Clinics & Services

Child Health Clinics

These are held at the Health Centre on Tuesdays 10am to noon.

Ante Natal Care

This takes place during surgery hours with your Doctor and our Community Midwife. Together we care for mums-to-be from as early as you wish in the pregnancy until four weeks after the delivery when care passes on to our Health Visitors.

The Midwife Ante-Natal Clinics are held on Tuesdays whilst appointments with your Doctor are available at various times during surgery hours.

Later in the pregnancy six parent craft classes are held in conjunction with the Health Visitors.

The Community Midwife attends mothers having a community delivery at St. Peter’s Hospital.

After The Birth

This momentous event involves three groups at the Health Centre who are all available to help you, your baby and existing baby. The Community Midwife will call at regular intervals during the first ten days and arrange for the Doctor to call if necessary. Fairly soon afterwards, a Health Visitor will pay you a visit to offer helpful advice on all those many questions concerning a new baby and to discuss immunisation.

Postnatal Groups and Positive Parenting sessions are held at regular intervals.

Child Health Clinics

These are held at the Health Centre on Tuesdays between 10am - noon.

Parents will need to bring their babies to be seen and weighed by a Health Visitor at one of these clinics during the week before they are booked in for their eight week or eight month assessment.

Childhood Immunisation

Clinics are held on Wednesday afternoons by the Practice Nurses.
